Plans & billing
Every organisation is on a plan (also called a tier). The plan
sets what the org can do — how many projects, seats, and AI messages
it gets, and which advanced features are unlocked. Billing is managed
under Settings → Billing by an admin member.
The plans
| Plan | Price / month | Projects | Seats | AI messages / mo | What's unlocked |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Beta | Free | 3 | 2 | 50 | ETS import & export, catalog, AI assistant |
| Starter | €19 | 10 | 3 | 200 | Everything in Beta, with higher limits |
| Pro | €59 | 50 | 10 | 1 000 | + Marketplace posting, live-bus telemetry, REST API, webhooks |
| Enterprise | Custom | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | Everything, plus dedicated support (sales-led) |
Beta is the free default — every new organisation starts here. It is a real, working plan (not a trial): you can run three projects, invite one teammate, and use the AI assistant, indefinitely.
The advanced integrations — posting to the marketplace, live KNX bus telemetry through a bridge, the REST API, and outbound webhooks — unlock on Pro and above. Enterprise removes the numeric limits and adds dedicated support; it is arranged with us directly.
Upgrading
- Open Settings → Billing. The card shows your current plan and live usage against each limit.
- Pick Starter or Pro and click through to Stripe Checkout — Stripe hosts the payment page; we never see your card details.
- After paying you land back on the billing page and your plan switches to the new tier within a few seconds.
To change your card, download invoices, switch plan, or cancel, open the Stripe customer portal from the same page (Manage payment). Cancelling drops the org back to Beta at the end of the billing period — your data is kept.
Hitting a limit
Limits are enforced when you try to cross them, not retroactively. If your Beta org already has three projects and you create a fourth, the create is blocked and an upgrade dialog appears with the smallest plan that fits. Existing work is never deleted or hidden when you are over a limit — you simply can't add more of that resource until you upgrade or free some up.
When Beta access ends
While KNX Clarity is in public beta, an administrator can end an organisation's free Beta — for example, to move a pilot customer onto a paid plan. When that happens the org keeps its data but the app is walled behind a paywall: the main screens are replaced with a "choose a plan" page until someone subscribes. Billing, account, and sign-out stay reachable throughout, so you can pay (or export your data) at any time. Completing Checkout lifts the paywall immediately.
The billing page shows a status badge: Beta (free), Active (a
paid plan), Past due (a payment failed — Stripe will retry),
Cancelled (reverted to Beta at period end), or Beta ended (the
paywall above). Past due does not lock you out — only an
admin-ended Beta does.
